SRL No 343 A4 Class No 60010 on shed at New England MPD 3rd Sept 1963

Gresley A4 Class 4-6-2 No 60010 'Dominion of Canada' on shed at 34E Peterborough New England on the 3rd September 1963. Another Perutz mounted slide that was over exposed and needed much work in photoshop. the A4 moved to 34E with the closure of 34A Kings Cross to steam on the 16th June 1963. This was one of the lucky A4's getting a reprieve north of the border on the 3 hour Aberdeen-Glasgow expresses. On withdrawal it was stored in the yard at Darlington and forgotten about until that shed closed in March 1966. It was then sent to Crewe for cosmetic restoration and gifted to the Canadian Historical Railroad Association. It remained there until 2012 when it was reunited with the other surviving A4's back in the UK and remained here until returning back to Canada in 2014.
