SRL No 38 B1 Class No 61159 stands at the buffers at London Kings Cross

Passengers make their way out of Kings Cross station after arriving on Thompson B1 Class 4-6-0 No 61159 possibly with a train from Cleethorpes. The B1's ran the Cleethorpes-KX service until 1960 when replaced by the Britannia Class locos that arrived at Immingham. No 61159 was built at the Vulcan Foundry in May 1947 and went to Gorton shed. Moved to 40B Immingham in June 1954 it is showing a 40B shed plate. Withdrawal came in September 1963. Along side the B1 to the left is Peppercorn A1 Class No 60115 'Meg Merrillies'.
