LNER Gresley A4 Class 4-6-2 No 2510 'Quicksilver' at Marshmoor near Hatfield working the Down 'Silver Jubilee' in 1937. The A4 is seen here in two-tone grey livery with front end number in small letters. This shot of the 'Silver Jubilee' shows the original seven-coach formation, by 1938 the formation was eight-coaches and fitting of a new articulation bogies to the kitchen car. It was in that year 2510 changed to Garter Blue livery with narrow red and white lining. By 1948 the loco was renumbered 60015 and was a 34A Kings Cross engine three years later. Withdrawal from here took place in April 1963 and sadly was scrapped one month later at Doncaster.
