SRL No 790 Gresley A3 Class No 60061 departing Newcastle Central station 1st June 1963
Another lovely shot taken in the north-east by our photographer this one of Gresley A3 Class 4-6-2 No 60061 'Pretty Polly'. The a3 is seen departing from Newcastle Central station on a Up express on the 1st June 1963. Thomas Knox kindly informed me the working is the 1A83 Edinburgh Waverley -London Kings Cross and he was with the late photographer when the photo was taken, they both had NE permits. Standing prominent behind the A3 is St.Mary's RC Cathedral.
